Electronic Residency Application Tool for AAMC

When medical students apply to residency programs, programs must review and manage hundreds of applications. I helped redesign the online tool for application management, which is provided by the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC).

Our team reviewed user interviews to identify the main pain points of the old tool and develop a better UX for sorting and filtering applications all the way through ranking top applicants for “the Match.” The redesign, at launch, will allow program coordinators to auto-assign applications to reviewers, select candidates for interviews, schedule and manage interviews, and score and rank applicants. The complex tool allows programs to set up features like custom applicant scorecards and supports six customizable user types.
